I had a wonderful stay at the Red Dot in in milledgeville. From the moment I checked in the staff is friendly welcoming and helpful. The room is very clean and the biggest surprise was the bed - it was honestly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on including the one at home! I had an excellent night's sleep which made my day even more enjoyable. The location is very convenient, with easy access to downtown milledgeville, restaurants, and local attractions. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable, and affordable place to stay, I highly recommend the Red Dot inn. I'll definitely stay here again the next time I'm in the area.
Awesome
Avoid Room #311. In fact, avoid this entire Red Dot Inn fka DAYS INN HOTEL in Milledgeville, GA!!! Based on my experience, here's some of my reasons why: 1. The bathroom door didn't close. 2. The shower curtain smelled like urine. 3. The bottom 1/3 of the tub appeared to be painted with epoxy glue, it was dirty, and it had hairs in it. 4. The walls, the ceiling, and even the lampshades and inside the refrigerator had mold and mildew on them. 5. The carpet had stains on it. 6. The smoke detector was painted over, which is both wrong and dangerous. 7. There were missing outlet cover plates. 8. The room smelled like mold mixed with some type of air freshener in an attempt to mask the odor. In summary, despite no refunds, I reported this information to the front desk and checked out early.
We came down to GA to be with our family for Thanksgiving and choose to stay here for 2 days. The first thing I saw was a roach in the bathroom. Upon further inspection, there were 4 roaches crawling on our bed sheets. This place definitely lacks in cleanliness. The good thing is that it's conveniently located near Walmart and the beds were pretty comfortable. We won't be staying here again.
Bugs all over the room. The advertised swimming pool has been closed by the current owners ‘because they don’t want to be bothered with it.’ There’s no guest laundry room. Guest rooms are only allowed two sets of towels at a time and towels are counted! Breakfast is meager. Bugs crawled all over our room all night and day. And, management actually banned my service dog from entering the office with me in violation of ADA laws. This is a horrible excuse for a motel! Large metal objects and trash litter the side of the property, hazards to pets and children. I will NEVER stay here again. I support the a forced closing of this facility for safety and cleanliness reasons.
On the plus side, the room I got was very spacious, and the bed was comfortable. The price was a little high compared to similar hotels in other small towns in the Southeast, but not outrageous. The noise from nearby rooms was pretty constant, but not loud. I noticed it, but wasn't put out by it, and it stopped at a reasonable hour. Still, the hotel could do with more soundproofing, or leave vacant rooms in between each rental to the extent possible. The room itself was a little tatty, as when things break and aren't replaced or fixed. A bare bulb here, a malfunctioning light fixture there. The hotel seems not to budget for maintenance. The curtain across the large window wasn't wide enough to completely cover it. And the remote for the TV was iffy. It was difficult to get the machine to change channels, increase or decrease volume, etc. And the free breakfast was a joke. There were no coffee fixings (sweetener, creamer) and the breads offered were just plain sliced white or wheat. Not a bagel or an English muffin in sight. Honestly, why do they even bother?
